Apple Pie - Fruit Pie Dessert.
If not in season, my kids love to eat fresh apple but when it's abundant they don't bother to get even a slice. Kids are always unpredictable when it comes to taste! Just being a mom, I have to find ways for them to eat nutritious snacks without spending too much on food rarity. When apples are everywhere, that's the time I have to make an apple pie. So I wanna share an easy apple pie recipe that I always do even though apple pie is an american classic dessert but all the ingredients like fresh apples and others are available just around the local grocery store. So there's no excuse why anyone or any mom can't do this nutritious fruit pie for the whole family. If you're that passionate mom, you can try this pie recipe with other season fruits around like buko (young coconut), langka (jackfruit) or mango. One key to have successful fruit pie is patience of kneading. I myself having a lot of sweats when it comes to kneading (masa). I do believe yummy food comes from hard labor. No wonder how desserts like cake recipes and pies are heavenly delightful! Just be patient and enjoy kneading! =)

A Season Fruit A Day Keeps Doctor Away!

Apples of the Day - P20 pesos each.

Most mornings, I have to buy fruits around the neighborhood. Recently, I noticed that Apples are the apple of my eyes in the fruit stand. Why I say so? Because they're abundant right now and it's the Best Buy among the other fruits to buy in terms of prices. You can buy Apples for as low as P10 - P20 pesos (less than $0.5). Buying fruits in season gives me a lot of advantages like I can choose the best fruit in terms of its appearance, I can make them into healthy dessert like Apple Pie without spending too much, and I can buy them right away without going too far. Right now you can see Apples everywhere in Cebu so whatever season fruits available go for them. So you can add fruits in your daily meals in affordable way. There's an old Welsh proverb that most of us are familiar with and that is "An apple a day keeps the doctor away". I think in this post, I revised it into "A season fruit a day keeps doctor away". What makes this Apple fruit so special? According to Medical News Today, Apples are extremely rich in antioxidants, dietary fiber, and flavanoids. From there, you can read more possible health benefits associated with eating apples. Here's my JustMom Pinay tip: Put apple inside the freezer for less than an hour then get it out and enjoy biting the crunchy cold apple. That's a quick and simple healthy snack for adults and kids like mine who can't wait. So grab your apples now! =)
