Christmas Day 2025 was extra special for our family as we spent the afternoon watching the premiere of Avatar Fire and Ash in IMAX at SM Cebu City. It was the perfect blend of cinematic magic, holiday vibes, and quality family time that made our Christmas truly memorable.
Arriving Just in Time for the 3:00 PM IMAX Show
Our movie schedule was at exactly 3:00 PM, and we arrived at 2:59 PM just in time to grab our popcorn and 3D glasses before the movie started. We purchased our tickets online through the SM Cinema website, which made the process convenient and stress-free, especially during the busy Christmas season.

We initially planned to choose the premium seats, but they were already sold out. In fact, the IMAX showing at SM Seaside Cebu City was fully booked by the time we checked, showing how highly anticipated this movie was during the holidays.
Why Watching Avatar in IMAX Is Always Worth It
Watching Avatar Fire and Ash in IMAX was absolutely breathtaking. The massive screen, immersive surround sound, and crisp 3D visuals made every scene come alive. The vibrant environments, elemental themes, and emotional storytelling kept us fully engaged from start to finish.
Before this, we had already watched Avatar released in 2009 and Avatar The Way of Water released in 2022. Seeing this latest installment felt like reconnecting with a familiar world, but with deeper storytelling, higher stakes, and more intense visuals.

After the movie, we lined up to receive Avatar posters given as a token for watching the premiere. It was a simple but meaningful souvenir that made the experience even more special and something we will keep as a reminder of our Christmas Day movie tradition.

Our Christmas Day did not end at the cinema. We enjoyed dinner, strolled around the mall, and took photos with the beautiful Christmas tree displays at SM Cebu City. The festive atmosphere made the evening even more enjoyable.

Ending Our Christmas Day at Sto. Niño Chapel
To conclude our Christmas celebration, we headed to the Sto. Niño Chapel at Senior Citizen Park. It was a peaceful and meaningful way to end the day, giving thanks and reflecting on the true spirit of Christmas.
